Total cost for car reservation online was $157. Once I picked up the car, there was an unexpected and additional 80Euro charge if crossing a border with the vehicle. This was never mentioned beforehand. Additionally, my credit card was charged 1400Euro deposit, which was also never mentioned anywhere previously. I called Budget customer service and spoke to an agent, who was extremely rude and unhelpful. I will never use Budget again!

The car was excellent and in excellent condition, but there were a lot of hidden fees that the company kept silent about. When choosing a car, the price on the website was $68 for two days, with hidden fees they charged $412 for two days. This is not pleasant, the company must inform customers about hidden fees. I will never go to Budget again because I feel cheated.

The line for pick up had one agent working and customers were lined up out the door. It took 40 minutes to get the car. I would never use budget again at this location.

Cons:

The van I was going to rent had a tiny dent in it. I simply did not want to be responsible for the dent so I pointed it out to the rental agent. They would not rent me the van with the small dent and chose to grab a different van from the lot which had recently been turned in and had me wait over 20 minutes while they “detailed” that van. I took that van, which was clearly detailed in a hurry, and found used napkins, grocery bags, crumbs, etc inside it. I’m a father of three and not super picky. But that’s Not exactly what one hopes to find in a rental vehicle, especially during COVID.

Pros:

Staff was very friendly and helpful, despite the line and other rude customers.

Cons:

I wish someone would have told me that they weren't open on Sundays. I had to take a picture of me dropping off the keys in case there was a dispute. I also don't like that the car is still my responsibility even after I drop it off at their lot.

Cons:

Reserved online for 3 days, but was told at pick up that I had to pay for an extra day, since their office wasn’t open on the day I had reserved to return it. Nothing mentioned online when I booked it for 3 days.. that I couldn’t return it on the 3rd day. WTF? When I tried to get an explanation, was told, “sorry, you could have returned it after 2days if you wanted.” I needed it for 3, their lack of staffing, resulted in mandatory extra day rental for me and no notice until I picked it up.. really bad.

Pros:

We love using Enterprise, we especially love the staff at the Murray location.

Cons:

Honestly, nothing. The car drove great, it was a great price, the staff is wonderful, very easy-in and out, no stress.

Everyone was friendly and helpful! Not being changed for rental vehicle until I the day of take it off the lot! As I received a $111.00 credit but was charged the full amount prior. Hoping to see if I get the credit.

Cons:

Was for PDX airport pick up...but ended up at another location in Portland... 3 times as expensive...Avis indicated this happens all the time. Used someone else and will never use this service again.

I was able to choose the exact car I wanted and was even able to reserve a cooler and boogie board to use for the week. The car was in like-new condition. The free shuttle was convenient, fast and the drivers were nice. The location was a little bit further from the airport, but it wasn't a problem.

It was the first time we rented via Turo, so I don't have a good base reference to compare in general, and can only compare to car rental experiences with commercial fleets (like Budget or Enterprise). In general it was okay -- we made it to where we were going and back, with no major issues. It's doable. However, there were some "surprises" where things didn't quite got as we expected: * We made rental reservation with expectation that we're picking up at the airport. When we got there, it turned out that the car is not at the airport, and the address given to us turned out to be what seemed to be Portland's airport Fire Rescue Tower (where, obviously, we can't even walk to or be at). We called the owner, and turned out that the car is at some house that's "not far" from the airport, and gave us new address. So additional expense of taking Uber/Lyft to get to the car (and apparently that address exists in two neighboring towns, and somehow Uber/Lyft took us first to the wrong one, so we had to take another ride, but that's not a Turo issue, just more expense as a consequence of car not being at the airport as promised). * When we got there, we called the owner to get the keys: "-- Keys are under front door's floormat. -- Nope, they're not there. -- Then try mailbox? -- Yes, they're there." The owner wasn't there, which is okay to do this all remote, but would be nicer if owner was in general "on top of things" such as where the car is and where it is expected to be picked up, where exactly are its keys, etc. * Then owner requested that prior to return we take the car to be washed and cleaned inside and out. We neither planned on looking for car detailing places in Portland, nor for time that it would take away from sightseeing, nor for extra substantial expense it would be. We pushed back and the owner backed off saying that he'll let it go due to confusion with pickup location (and apparently he didn't send some email that he was supposed to send, or something along those lines). * And while the car wasn't too dirty, it wasn't clean to begin with (which made detailing request that more amusingly odd). Crumbs on floor and seats and luggage compartment. Worst part was that windshield was dirty on the inside that was minor unpleasant at daytime, but as driving progressed into night time, it was quite significant as it was blurring lights and affected visibility substantially. * We also added additional driver thru Turo and let the owner know. The owner requested that we send him picture of drivers license directly to him. We refused (as it didn't seem right, given that Turo is the one that manages that aspect) and he backed off. * Of course, additional expense of Uber/Lyft after return drop-off as we weren't dropping it off at the airport as originally planned. So all in all we probably spent additional $50-60 in Uber/Lyft for getting to and from cars location instead of it being in the airport, and lost about 3+ hours for dealing with additional unplanned travel. The rest was okay. Car drove fine and didn't give any problems.
